The Necropolis War

A war between Alvidar and its allies (including the Thorandul Empire) and the forces of The Dark One in the Meridan Underdark. It is also known as the War Against Ancient Alvidar. The Dark One was an evil god who could only be personally defeated by a group of heroes bearing the Soul Runes, marks that gave soul-deep connections to a group of ancient heroes who had fought the Dark One in the past. The Dark One’s forces primarily consisted of undead, mostly led by liches.
The war ended with the Dark One's defeat at the hands of a band of heroes bearing the Soul Runes. What happened to the runebearers and their runes after that is unknown.
