The necklace's material is made with special properties by the Spirits. If one were to melt down the necklace and put a piece of it into a different metal, that would become enchanted.

History

The Necklace of Understanding was created by the Spirits when they cursed the humans to be unable to communicate with other animals. The Spirits created the Necklaces because they knew that not all the humans had been terrible to the other animals. Only a handful of necklaces remain today. Holly's necklace was a family heirloom. Her necklace once belonged to a woman named Mira, who passed it down to her children, and then her children to theirs, until it fell into Holly's hands. Ember's necklace was found in a cave in the Saphire Mountains. Who the original owner of the necklace was remains a mystery. One can only assumed it was stolen by a follower of Fern and then hidden in the mountains. Holly eventually stole the necklace from Ember, and gave it to Ericka Lynn, who donated it to the EFSL, where it was studied and used to create the SHE-Wolf.

Significance

The necklace represents the connection humans have with the animals. Whether it be Holly helping Moonmist break out the animals that were trapped in the zoo, or its metal being a key part of the SHE-Wolf.
