The Broken Bowl Inn is a handsome four story brick building on Porter Street in the Corktown District of Detroit. A narrow alley between the Inn and the Barlett building (home of the Haberdasher’s Guild) leads to the small stables in back. The public taproom has well crafted tables and chairs appropriately sized for humans, dwarves, and hafllings. Patrons can also step up to the long bar and order their favorite or discover Longo’s new choice.

Upon entering the Broken Bowl, patrons will notice the mingled aromas of roast coffee, malt beer, pipe smoke and the famous meat pies. The Broken Bowl is well lit without any area being bright or in deep shadows. Usually at the table just outside the cloakroom is ex-Sheriff William Stack with a large tankard of lager and an empty plate of smoked sausage & cheese. William keeps “an eye on things” but most patrons only need to fear being drawn into one of Williams’ lengthy expositions on his adventures replete with details the listener would rather not know about.

The public room most evenings will find either master story-teller Taaldris, a regal looking dragonborn with fine copper-green scales, telling heroic tales of the ancient world or bard Gavin Spanswick performing a combination of common tunes and cutting satires. The public room is where adventurers can find Redvers James, who often has “odd jobs” for those quick of mind and feet. Rumor says Redvers is a fixer for the Hull family but he only smiles when asked about his patrons.

In the semi-privacy of the booths to the side of the long bar, the adventures may find the wizard Grace Cheverton, who may still be looking for a group of heroes to retrieve a set of basilisk claws. Another regular customer, Khargrun Strotgann, a dwarf with an imposing beard, a priest of the Cult of Ardniss has also found employment for adventurers.

There are two private rooms in back and the stairs leading up to the rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors, with the 4th floor being the family’s residence.
