Crystal Elf
Syl'cryn draw power from their matron goddess Lady Æduræ. Perhaps the most well known is their natural attunement to magic. During the Age of Remembrance, crystal elves were some of the only people (alongside druids, witches, and a few outliers) able to utilize magic. This earned them respect as legendary healers. Even now, in the current Age, Selvisprie is seen as a place of healing for many throughout Eclelon and beyond.
Another notable power that they hold is their unnaturally tough skin (in the literal sense). Though on contact their skin will feel as soft as any elf's, an average blade will fail to pierce it. With training, a syl'cryn can increase the magnitude of this ability for short durations by calling on their sleeping goddess.
While not differing in body shape from your average high elf, crystal elves have dramatic differences in skin and hair color. They almost exclusively have vivid hair colors covering the entire chromatic spectrum. Same goes for skin, although the colors will be more muted and skin-like.
Æduræ's Warmth
The farther a crystal elf gets from Selvisprie, or rather Æduræ, the weaker their bond to her becomes. This can result in fatigue, loss of innate magic, and even death if gone far enough/for too long. This is a major factor in the crystal elves' isolation ever since the Shattering. The only known way to counteract this is with a special token, usually a personal effect bestowed with a blessing given by one of Æduræ's Prism. They require a great deal of effort to make. Thus, they are extremely rare and only given out in extreme cases. For instance, Nerigwyn Xyrsandoral carried a token for her expedition into the mires of Argenveil.Æduræ's Call
A crystal elf is never truly lost. All of Æduræ's creations have a sort of psychic connection to her, and feel a sort of pull towards her. It gets stronger the farther one strays and is considered a major reason that her people are so confined to the realm of Selvisprie. No matter where a syl'cryn finds themself, they will always know the way back home and be inclined to return. After Æduræ's fall, the call has been considered more of a warning than anything, since leaving the confines of Aedurae's grace means losing yourself.
