Eshkar
Eshkar was a city-state on the large southwestern peninsula of Utanar. It was renowned for its navy, art and public works as well as its university and the shrewdness of its merchants and statesmen. It, along with the other coastal city-states of southern Utanar, was a last bastion against the hordes of the warlock lord, Jalandhara, whose empire stretched across the northern three-fourths of the continent.
It is not known what was the final fate of Eshkar, but it is believed to have been utterly destroyed. Recorded in the Codex of Gheran that members of the Vidvanya jen Dharmu, fleeing west on the vessels of Lord Gheran bas Arbiram, scryed the city one last time when they were a hundred miles distant. They reported that the tsunami wave had inundated the city up to the towering Spires of Evran and that the surrounding lands were rent with massive chasms full of magma that created great clouds of mist when it met the inflowing cold seas.
