The Righteous Host

The Righteous Host was an army created to combat the menace of the original Temple of Elemental Evil. The army was composed of the nations of Furyondy, Veluna, the Free Assembly of the Kron Hills and members of the Rangers of the Gnarley Forest. The forces of the Righteous Host were led by Prince Thrommel IV.
The Righteous Host claimed victory over the hoard of Elemental Evil and Zuggtmoy on the fields of Emridy Meadows. Agents of the Righteous Host had put into effect a plan to lure Zuggtmoy back to the Temple to provide their armies a better chance at success. Their tactics succeeded and immediately after the battle the Righteous Host marched to the Temple of Elemental Evil to seal away Zuggtmoy in lieu of a proper way to defeat her.
Among the notable casualties of the war was the knight of St. Cuthbert, Serten. His tomb was built upon the battlefield of Emridy Meadows where he was buried with his armor and his weapon: the Cudgel of St. Cuthbert.
