Blue Star Charm
The blue star charm was commonly used in Somnus, to dispel enchantments and illusions. It also weakens all magic and dreamcasting within the vicinity, including that of the holder. Those who wear the charm in their sleep will gradually stop dreaming. These charms are typically stored in boxes made from the same material that negate the effects of the charm.
These charms are typically used by adventurers to protect themselves against magic, or attached to the entrances of buildings prohibit magic.
Caution is advised to those who use its magic, however, as those who use it for prolonged periods of time will slowly lose all ability to dream and use magic. These effects will last long after the charm is seperated from the user.
History
Although use of these charms can be traced back to Somnus, its origins predate the culture by a short period. They were believed to have been made by the people that would eventually become the kingdom of Somnus. The method of how these charms were made have been lost to time, and the few that remain are sold in The Pearl Market.
The charms are carved from an unknown blue stone that is perpetually cold to the touch. The centers of the charm are typically engraved with the symbol of an eye.
