Gilman Rayner
Eternal Pirate King
I'm quite sure he has spent more time on sea than he has on the soil of his own nation.Likely the most notorious and infamous pirate in the history of Aidin. Gilman Rayner is the grandchild of Lew Rayner, the first ruler of Aidin, and is renowned as the most infamous pirate to have come from Aidin.- Aidin Rayner, talking about his son, Gilman
Early Life
Gilman Rayner was born as the younger of the two sons of Aidin Rayner, the man who'd become King in 20 years. Until then the life of the Rayner family was peaceful. They lived in North Aidin, in the house formerly inhabited by Lew Rayner, Gilman's grandfather. During this time Gilman's father often went set sail and went pirating. The two young boys - Gilman and Surge dreamt of being pirates and often played with wood swords. In the time of the Savage Invasion, the Rayners fled to a safer location, staying in a house on the outskirts of North Aidin. After a few years both Gilman and Surge were able to join their father on voyages which both enjoyed, although it was obvious to anyone that Gilman absolutely loved being on the open waters.A Pirate's Life
When Gilman turned 19, he was given a ship and crew by his father, and although it was a small crew of only 12, Gilman quickly proved that pirate life was for him as he lead a handful of successful raids in just his first year of piracy. In the following years, his father became the king of Aidin which Gilman didn't think much of, although of course, he was proud of his father. Eventually, the South Split War began and Gilman was made the Admiral of 1st Aidin Military Fleet, which he with his cool head lead quite nicely. Although he wasn't the most strategical individual, he proved successful in making multiple attacks against Malesuray, especially against its ships and harbours. After the war was completed he began having long periods of not being in Aidin and spending most of his time in sea. He was most famous for stealing from the ships of Ezril that were bringing resources to Malesuray. He, honestly, did piracy for the excitement and thrill and not so much for the actual gain of resources and wealth which meant that he was fully fine with bringing most of the pillaged goods back to Aidin and its people, instead of keeping them for himself.
