Surge Rayner

Surge Rayner was the eldest of two sons - the child of Aidin Rayner, Aidin's King. Ever since Surge's father became King, the young man trained, studied and took advice from his father on leading people, to one day become a great leader himself. Unfortunately, he died before ever gaining the title of King.

Early Life

When Surge was born, his father Aidin was not yet King, and wouldn't be for another 24 years. During those years the family of Rayners lived peacefully in their home in North Aidin with Aidin Rayner occasionally setting off to sail on his pirating adventures. Just like his brother Gilman, Surge often dreamt about sailing as a pirate. During the Savage Invasion, Aidin didn't want his family in a place ravaged by battle and constant conflict and so to not endanger them moved everyone to a house on the outskirts of North Aidin, where the family spent their time during Drax Savage's reign and the beginning half of Ekris Raeburn's reign. Now, as the sons were older they actually went on adventures alongside their father, proving to have great potential as pirates. Once the family returned back to their home in North Aidin and Aidin Rayner became King, Surge, being the eldest son, trained and studied to one day become King after his father's reign.

Scar

Surge didn't spend all of his time just studying and training to become a King. He just like anyone else had to have fun from time to time, and fun for Surge was spending time with women he'd meet. He pursued conversation and romanced many ladies, many of which were married. On one occasion when the paramour had scheduled to meet up with one of his lovers, he slowly crept into the room and was likely ready for a night to remember... which it was, just not in the way he expected. Under the blanket where he'd presumed the lady to be, instead was her angry husband holding a knife, who in his rage lunged at Surge and scarred his left eye. After a rather long scuffle Surge finally was able to best and kill the man, but the scar would stay on his face to remind him of tha night for the rest of his life.

Unfortunate End

Aidin Rayner had been King for 12 years at this point. He was viewing a series of duels which were somewhat of a tournament event that was taking place in the town square. On rare occasions, the duels ended fatally as one duel between a crowd favourite dueler and a mysterious cloaked figure occurred. After the crowd favourite pierced his blade through the cloaked figure's chest, the hood fell back and showed that it had been Surge Rayner who had died. It had turned out that in the last few years he had felt undervalued and unseen, as he spent most of his time studying which was not common practice in Aidin, and so he wanted to prove himself as a capable, strong and adventurous individual by besting the dueler in the tournament, especially in front of his father.
Surge's death eventually led to his brother Gilman Rayner becoming the king.
