Knátta, God of Strength

The most physically imposing of the pantheon, Knátta is also the progenitor of giantkind. Each of the different kinds of giant (Hill, Frost, Stone, Fire, Cloud, and Storm Giant) are deemed to be different aspects of Knátta and are personified within the six primordial giants.
  • Gillingr, the primordial hill giant, is the aspect of Obstinance.
  • Ymir, the primordial frost giant, is the aspect of Perseverance.
  • Hrungnir, the primordial stone giant, is the aspect of Endurance.
  • Surtr, the primordial fire giant, is the aspect of Wrath.
  • Ægir, the primordial cloud giant, is the aspect of Will.
  • Durran, the primordial storm giant, is the aspect of Might.
Moreover, the six primordial giants are all minor deities.   Worshippers of Knátta believe the giants are destined to rule the world. They are taught to honor the Ordning, the hierarchy of giantish society. They are advised not to raise their hands against their fellow giants, and taught not to fear the passage of time, which favors the giants over shorter-lived peoples. They are not to underestimate other races, but neither are they to allow them to impede their goals.
