Lugh, God of Tricks

Lugh is portrayed as a warrior, a king, a master craftsman, and a savior. He is associated with skill and mastery in multiple disciplines, including the arts. He is also associated with oaths, truth, and rightful kingship. His most common epithets are Lámfada- "of the long hand" (possibly for his skill with a spear or his ability as a ruler), and Samildánach- "equally skilled in many arts." While he has a soft spot for mortals, he gets his title as the God of Tricks due to his behavior in the divine realm; he fuels the divine war between Zel and Kis.   Lugh refuses to take any other divine seriously, often manipulating them for his own benefit. There's no god he takes greater pleasure in tricking than Tremear, God of Chaos. Since Tremear gets very few interactions with other gods, he often displays a hint of naivete when one approaches him under the mask of friendship. This, coupled with his chaotic nature, led to Lugh convincing Tremear to wage war with other gods on both sides of the pantheon. On top of this, Lugh frequently gossips and spreads lies amongst the divines. Nobody knows what Lugh gains from perpetuating the war, but some speculate that the war might have already ended if not for his influence.   Note: Lugh is linked with the harvest festival of Lughnasadh, which bears his name.
