Vaara, Goddess of Oracles
As the creator of divination magic, Vaara is the medium through which all advice and prophecy are sought. Although Vaara has precognition of the future, she often relays this information in cryptic messages called the 22 major and 56 minor arcana. It takes a dedicated divination wizard their entire life to fully comprehend the arcana enough to clearly tell the future, while the minor arcana can be learned enough through intense schooling to be used for scrying purposes. It's these arcana that have consolidated seers and magicians as staples in any major settlement. The greatest oracles have been devoted enough to Vaara to become advisers to the land's highest kings, while those who would oppose Vaara have nowhere to hide.
Vaara's wisdom cannot be understated. While she may not have sealed Asmodeus away herself, she was the one who identified the prophecy that could bring him back.
