Viansa District

Named from the flood plains of the Lynulu river basin that most of the district resides. The Viansa District, or"Gold Valley District", is the smallest district in the kingdom in population and area.

AveMana Oliana, a half Korrla half Rheyan citizen of the Viansa district, is a prime example of the ethnic ambiguity in this region

Due to the unique history of the Lynulu river basin, once owned by the Rheyans as the Kris river region, and then now by the Lynulus and the Korrla people, but also being so close to the Dayara district and having its northern cities, Ave Kris and Daya Nila, owned by Daya's Empire and the Dayarin Empire, This district has some of the most diverse demographics in the entire kingdom.

Percentage

  • 40% - Ethnic Viansan
  • 20% - Ethnic Dayne
  • 20% - Ethnic Korrla
  • 10% - Ethnic Rheyan
  • 05% - Ethnic Atlan
  • 03% - Ethnic Primi
  • 02% - Ethnic Annie/Other

Government

The district is one of the seven within the Kingdom of Atla, and as such, the capital city, in this case Ave Kris, sends representatives to the capital to represent the district as a whole in political affairs. Other than this these representatives, more typically known as district head "families" can make very loose laws as to certain occurrences in their district. It can be quickly overturned by the royal family in Atla however.
Anly Lynulu, current heiress and daughter of Jaimie jr. and Olia Lynulu, known for her status as a powerful warrior and her charming character. She will govern the Viansa District once her father dies.

Defences

The dry, western cliffs of the Ariana Mountains/Wola overlooking the lush Viansa.   The district is very well protected for the most part. With Livian troops mostly patrolling border areas around the district, mostly its southwestern border which holds the eastern edge of the Ariana Mountains and the Wola, so raider advances are not an uncommon occurrence.

Industry & Trade

The district is most well known for it being the "rice center" of the kingdom, with its production of rice being its main export.

Infrastructure

The next largest town in the Viansa district, Lamana, a town of 10,000, is nothing more than a few houses by the side of a river, showing the difference of life outside of the two cities.

Ave Kris and Krisie, making up more than 90% of the districts population, are in peak condition and some of the nicest cities in all of the kingdom. Outside of those cities however, the people who live within the small towns live very independently without much help from the kingdom. Which most actually prefer.

History

Daya's Empire/Rhosaya Republic

The town of Lupina, which still stands today at the feet of the Luppi mountains, was one of the oldest settlements Daya conquered on the Lynulu River Valley

First nothing more than a few tribes that were spread far and wide, when Daya the unrelenting came from the west she unite many of these tribes and created many towns and cities that would makes up most of the modern day ones of the Viansa district. The area, known for its rice production, was quickly made one of the most important regions of Daya's Empire. With the rice being able to feed most of the Empire's rapidly growing population.

Though while Daya easily took most of the northern half of this region, the southern half, where the Rheyan city of Krisie stood, was more of a challenge as the Rhosaya Republic used their new alliance with the Polaris Kingdom to strengthen their position in the river valley. As the tension between these two grew and Daya began to grow old and restless, she went against her better judgement and attacked the city of Krisie. To the surprise of the Rheyans, Daya's troops took the city with ease and set up blockades and controlled the city until a Rheyan surrender of the area was brought to the table. Unfortunately for Daya, the Rheyans' allies, the Polaris Kingdom, was quick to act to help their new friends. Commander Lynulu, of the Polaris Kingdom's army, commanded a siege on the city and was successful in the capture of Krisie, even killing Daya the Unrelenting in the process. For his great victory he was gifted rule over the area as a new administrative region in the Polaris Kingdom. This stirred up a centuries long conflict between the once allies of the Rhosaya Republic and the Polaris Kingdom, with the Rheyans expecting their lands back.

Rheyan/Atlan Conflict

Lynna Lynulu, daughter to Commander Kea Lynulu, fought many battles against the Rheyan rebellions, going against the strict Korrla rules about women warriors

After the Lynulu family was given administrative control over the new Lynulu River Basin, renamed from Kri River Basin, the Rheyans were outraged at their Atlan allies, the Polaris Kingdom, that they had taken their past lands for themselves. This caused outrage among the Rheyans as food prices rose sharply and many Rheyans were starving as their wages could not cope with this rise in food prices. Many calls from the Rheyan people to take back the lands from the Atlans, as well as a new universal hatred from the Rheyans against the Atlans, rose. The republic was smarter than this and new they would lose a war against the Atlans, so they turned their anger to the new Primiea Empire and the people they had hated for so many centuries.

Kingdom of Atla

Temples of Ave Kris

After the defeat of the Rhosaya Republic by Queen Riana and the treated of Krisie signed between the Dayarin Empire and the Polaris Kingdom, creating the Kingdom of Atla, the Lynulu River Basin became the first "district" in the kingdom and empire drew up borders to. The new Viansa District, which stretched from Krisie in the south to the renamed city of Ave Kris, for neutrality reasons, in the north, was created and the Lynulu family kept their administrative powers in the region. Becoming the only head family in the entire district, the only district to have a single head family.

Geography

Bright sun shining over the rice fields, creating a gold hue.   The Viansa is named for the miles of golden rice fields that cover this beautiful and lush district. Located in the Lynulu basin it is one of the most lush regions on Rhydar. Though the region nowadays is littered with hundreds of rice fields and grasslands, it was once a very large, and lush, savanna that stood at the western based of the Albany mountains, being host to countless numbers of flora and fauna.

Combat

Due to the many cultures that flow through the Viansa district, the district has created its own combat system that is a mesh of multiple other ones found throughout the Kingdom of Atla.

Simply called "The Via" this fighting style is a mix of the Rheyan chain-sword fighting style and the Primi variant of the combat style of Vreuz. Focused on a light, one footed stance, this fighting style maximizes mobility and compliments quick swordsman. Using a sword with an Atlan gold handle and a silver-gilded Glebb blade is the best for a fighter using this style. Although these sword are only held by Viansa nobility as it is very expensive and hard to find Glebb blacksmiths outside of Kaika.

The White Warrior

Lynna Lynulu, born to Molan and Savanna Lynulu, was a powerful Viansan warrior who was known to most as the White Warrior. Commanding the defensive Viansan forces while adorning her bright white armor and her silver-gilded Glebb sword. Lynna became a symbol in the eyes of the Viansan and Korrla people, who very much did not agree with female warriors of any kind. After commanding great defenses in Ave Kris and in Krisie, she was given the rank of a Commander, the first female of Korrla ethnicity to be given that title.
