God, the True Creator

By Palm Sister, of The Court of Hunter This book is bound in a blue leather wrap with a leather white, lit candle.   Although most Rhye elves hold King Mercury to high esteem as the creator of Rhye, in truth, he was merely chosen as a condiut for true power. As an agent, King Mercury is merely the agent of God, the one who held values complementry to Gods own, and thus a perfect choice for creating a Kingdom that encapsulates God's passions. This book considers our God, in the hope of bringing our people closer to him as the True reason for our existance.

Values

For the most part, God's values are the same as our entire Kingdom. Devotion to creation of all forms, a passion for innovation and investion, and a curiosity for aquiring true knowledge. In some pedantic texts, God is considered the patron of art, cartography, glyphs, pcitures, knowledge, writing, reading, and learning, however all of these are captured in creation, innovation, and knowledge. Libraries and galleries or other places that gather, protect or showcase items relating to these values are considered sacred places in Rhye, which must be accessible by all Rhye Elves and cared for properly.

Presentation

Although not considered a mortal with a physical form, many elves who have dreamed of god or otherwise imagined him seem to have a shared image of him. He presents as elderly, with a huge, flaring beard. His distinctive eyes with triangular pupils blaze with blue, violet, and pink. Many claim to have seen him carrying scrolls and writing tools, even without needing to use them.

The Mantle of Magic

A metaphoric object representing the God granted control that was give to King Mercury. It is assumed that God spent much time searching for a being that shared his passions, eventually settling on Mercury. God guided the new King to the empty sea, and encouraged him to establish a realm where these virtues would flourish. Thus, the kingdom of Rhye was born, its foundations built upon the divine principles of artistry, research, and enjoyment.

Worship

To my country folk, God is not merely a distant deity to be worshipped from afar, but rather a living embodiment of the whole of Rhye. They see God's presence in the vibrant hues of the sunrise, the intricate patterns of a spider's web, and the melodious songs of birds in flight, though often their thoughts are misdirected towards the King. God is viewed as the ultimate artisan, and many master craftmen and artists do give deserved respect to God when they complete masterpieces. Temples and shrines are common buildings in Rhye's capital and larger cities. They are typically places of peace and beauty, where elves may medidate to find inspiration or passion.
