Theodore 'Teddy' Vanguard is the youngest son of a rich and influential family of Rhye elves who live in the Northern most settlement known as the City of Gold. Considered a strange and sweet hearted child by his family, Teddy himself felt very different from his ambitious and indulgent family, prefering wheere he could to spend his time with the street kids in the city. It is here that he gained his own influence, different from his parents, and would eventually lead a rebellion in the city, managing to overthrow the leader, only for the city to be burned down by unknown assailants.
Early Life
Born to Villomen and Nartishiny Vanguard a few years after King Havok took the throne of Rhye. Teddy was mostly raised by the house servants, but spent much time escaping and befriend children of his own age where he could find them. Although raised on the estate and educated as one of the Vanguard, as the far youngest of six siblings, Teddy was not treated with an expectation for taking on the house's responcibilities, and mostly left to his own devices. As such, he found far more companionship and connection with the street kids he played with than with his own family.
Childhood
Upon entering his childhood, Teddy began making a more active contribution to the lives of the street kids, stealing food and medicine for them from his family, finding clothing suitable for them, and through a remarkably crafty bit of forgery, found them a suitable shack to stay in just beyond the city walls that the city council suddenly lost all memory of existing.
When the city's older orphans were turned out of their ophanages in favour of younger children, Teddy and his group modified the shack to house them all, creating a small sanctuary of no luxury whatsever but a serene sense of peace.
As the city began to notice the firey haired boy who could only be a Vanguard hanging around with homeless urchins, his family attempted to direct his attentions elsewhere to save face. They enrolled him as one of the staff at the Temple of Riches, which they believed would expose him to some of the wonders of their lifestyle and make him all but forget about the urchins.
This backfired, instead confusing Teddy as to how people could indulge in such unessisary wealth when his friends lived in a semi-derlict shack. By this point Teddy's values had been established, and all but his own self-confidence and fear was keeping him from taking action.
Teenage Years
The first battle in Rhye was set at the City of Gold. As a non-court affair, the kingdom of Rhye has little intelligence as to the cause. They are aware that a race of unfamiliar beings attacked the City of Gold, and many Rhye Elves who had work contracts with the city were forced to defend their city. Teddy took such a position, and was placed on the front lines. Despite no military training, the now large bear-figurered buy was able to defend those around him from hundreds of enemy soilders.
Teddy was named a hero of the city, which finally gave Teddy the confidence he had always lacked.
The Rebellion
With his new found confidence Teddy, his group of street kids and many other disenchanted Rhye elves across the city rose up, and took action to throw out the foreigners who had infrilrated the citys government. They were successful, and reached out to Prince Jade to assist with reinstaing a Rhye elf culture in the nearly unrecognisable city.
