Long Rest Inn

Eight centuries ago, the witch Peggy Knitbone settled in a small hovel in the marshlands that besludged the Rimeway's floodplain. Over the years, as civilisation encroached, the hovel grew into a centre for healing, and a small pub developed beside it. As the marshes were reclaimed and the city grew, the hospital became a large and advanced facility, eventually developing into Rimeport's biggest and best location for medical care.   The inn, now known as the Red Lion, grew as well, and eventually a tradition emerged that pallbearers would pause at the inn to see off the deceased with a beer by the bier before setting off for the funeral. Thus emerged the name of The Long Rest, a moniker the inn has borne proudly ever since.
