2023-09-21 - Escape the Underdark
General Summary
Our 4 heroes are given a rude introduction. They found themselves in the back of a cart; chained to the floor. Each had been plucked off the streets of Bral buy an eight foot tall insectoid creature that when you looked at it's face your brain would dart off in wild directions. In the dark they were bundled in with a dwarf named Borjax as the cart made it's way thorough the Rock's limited underdark.
Along the way, their captors were attacked by some of the local fauna. The Neogi that was the master of the slave ring they are being initiated into was killed instantly by a lucky blow. His Umber Hulk companion put up a better fight and managed to drop two of the three cave apes that had attacked them before succumbing to it's wounds.
The nascent team decides to make their break in the chaos of the combat, working together to pull the ring they're chained to out of its housing. Free to move now they escape the cart just to come face to face with the remaining cave ape. Thought free from the ring in the cart, their wrists were still bound with manacles. The ape seemed more interested in eating it's kill than fighting, but Ah-tun decided to try and scare the ape off. While he managed to startle the ape, he was not intimidating enough to drive it away from it's kill.
When they finish off the ape, they make introductions and decide to stick together until they can make their way out of wherever it is they are at. After rearming and taking an hour to make their preparations they review their surroundings. They find one set of cart tracks heading to the left, and two heading to the right. Not sure where to go further they flip a coin and head off to the right, and while they run into a few more bumps with the under dark flora and fauna the y manage to find their way back up to the streets
Once safely out of the underdark, Borjax ask them if they are looking for work, and invites them to meet with the captain of the ship he works on. They all agree to meet the next night at the Happy Beholder, an infamous bar in near the docks in low town.
