Albion II Campaign

The second campaign set in The Kingdom of Albion and also the second set in the World of Rodinia. By now the game system of choice was D&D v3.5. 5 new players took on the challenge of foiling the return of The Demon Prince.
Events
  • A simple introduction to Albion in which the characters wandered around their homelands, and spent some time in the neighbouring Empire of Honshu, getting to know each other, and what life in these lands is like. They heard rumours and mutterings of the return of priests of the Demon Prince to the lands and uncovered some evidence that an old exiled ex-Knight of the Sun, Sir Mangarack had set up some sort of base in the Valley of Shrines, where he had taken his new convert, Sir Calmet.
  • The party were asked by Sir Harken, head of the Order of Knights, to go and find the Valley of Shrines and, if possible, to capture Sir Calmet and bring him back to Littlebrook. The party found the Valley and successfully underwent a series of raids to find the location of Sir Calmet and return him to Sir Harken. Along the way they met many an interesting creature and made some unlikely enemies. Their success was dampened by the abduction of two of their friends from their home village of Waymeet. During this part of the campaign Ermenred became a cleric of Thyr and Colby became a paladin of Muir. The party, having returned Sir Calmet, were no longer working for the Knights but were free agents. They returned to the Valley of the Shrines in an effort to recover their kidnapped friends and to restore the lost shrines and burial halls of Thyr and Muir. They managed to rescue their kidnapped friends but on returning to the temple of The Demon Prince to rescue the other captives they fell foul of the mighty powers of Koraashag and his evil minions and were slain.
  • The Knights of the Sun had learnt all about what Korashaag was up to in the Jagged Peaks from Sir Calmet and someone was going to have to stop him. Cardinal O'Connor raised our heroes from the dead and the king himself asked them to set themselves against the minions of The Demon Prince, for the sake of the Kingdom!! The Albioners returned to the Burial Halls, found there way through to the Black Monolith and in a show of supreme self sacrifice destroyed it forever!
  • The Albioners were knighted by the king and rewarded well the their efforts. They then went on to start following up some personal goals and general rumours going around the country. They visited the elves and Ermenred took an elven apprentice. They visited Dragon's Perch and laid the spirit of Ashardalon the Great to rest finally. They went into Honshu  and fought a wu-jen called Banth in an effort to reclaim some magical scabbards which had been stolen from the Niten Dojo. They returned Akbeth from her place as a living rock statue. They visited Hishan and spoke with the Kheri-heb there. Colby became a Knight of the Sun. Colby and Ermenred became Bishops. Then they returned to the Burial Halls in an effort to finish what they had started with Korashaag and Natasha.
  • The Albioners returned to the Burial Halls and fought a series of running battles with Korashaag, his demon servants and his priest minions. Heremod was captured and rescued and Ethelwulf was killed during this epic battle. Eventually though the Albioners won through, killing all Korashaag's priests and his demons. However Korashaag was able to get away in the final battle. Once they have achieved this the Albioners destroyed the Temple to The Demon Prince in the Burial Halls and restored the Font of the Ancients. They then went on to dispel Natasha's exotic purple mist and as a result were able to convince Natasha that it would be a good idea for her to leave the Halls permanently. They locked up the Halls proper, sealing them off from the Underdark with powerful magic. The Burial Halls had been well and truly recovered.
  • The Albioners had many loose ends they wished to tie up. They went and destroyed the beholder they had found in Akbeth's grotto. They fought an extended campaign against Banth and Aldeth in the Tokai Canyon and recovered the Scabbards of Tamita. Then they went into Callindrill's Tomb in search of his legendary Staff and here the group known throughout the kingdom as The Heroes of Waymeet finally met their doom.
