Session 4
General Summary
The party wandered back to Waymeet from Ashtar, travelling the safe farmlands of Albion,
following the Dragon Flood downstream to the centre of the kingdom. There they stopped for
some gossip at the inn, visited the church of Pelor and the shrine of Obad Hai. Flek talked to
Marik and discovered that the Queen of the elves had invited him to visit her at his leisure. The
group spoke to Warden Thomas at the service in the church on Sunday and he was interested in
news of their exploits. A group comprising such a strange collection of people was bound to
attract attention.
From Waymeet the heroes headed north once again, back up to Thistledelve. There they returned
Prince Jarrad's horses and were put up in the Palace Inn at the expense of the Prince. The reason
for this was that there were dwarves in town and Horace, the chamberlain, did not want the
dwarves and our heroes mixing in close company where alcohol was abundant. The next day the
party went to the Royal Market and traded for dwarven weapons and armour, exchanging their
fabulous sapphire for three suits of armour and a mace. In addition, the dwarves asked for a piece
of news for each item bought. The party invited the dwarven leader, Nolo Ironbrand, back to their
inn for dinner and chatted to him about events around the kingdom. He told them of a perennial
problem the dwarves had of a root that they kept cutting at in their mines, but that would never
die. It just kept regenerating.
The next day the party travelled on to Castle de Belame, reaching there easily enough. Upon
arrival they were told that things were a little nasty here as the food wagon had been delayed.
They booked into the inn and chatted to Quinn about their adventures. Flek told a great tale of the
taking of The Church of Ashtar which was mostly accurate and enjoyed by all present.
Morning of the next day found the party being roused from their beds by Quinn. Fortuna and Kai
had set off before first light, aiming to get up into the mountains to the Abbey where Fortuna had
to report her progress. The other three were told that Warden Graham wanted to see them. They
dressed quickly and approached the keep. Here they learnt that Warden Graham had sent two lads
out to meet the food wagon and that they had not returned. He asked for the heroes help to see
what was going on. The three quickly agreed, equipped themselves and headed out towards
Thistledelve.
A few miles down the road, they came across a pair of orcs guarding whilst some humans tried to
drag the food wagon off the road. There were dead bodies on the road. They group attacked,
killing all the people and orcs. On one person they found a weird black pendant with a white skull
with red eyes on it. They did not know what this was but it made the priest feel uneasy. Following
the tracks at the ambush site they found a cave. They entered the cave, fighting many more orcs
inside. These orcs were from the Deepdelver tribe of The Jagged Peaks. At the bottom of a clearly
dwarven constructed mine they encountered the leader of these orcs, some sort of spell caster
wearing another of these strange pendants. During their battle he pointed at Licinius, the cleric of
Pelor, and shouted, "The Demon Prince will have your soul!". Licinius was gripped with a great
fear but his faith in Pelor held him in place. They slew the evil human and stripped him of his
possessions. In the room they found him was a strange circular depression in the centre with
groves leading out from the centre to the walls and under the walls. The party searched this room
and found a hidden door out, but no way to open it. They decided to fill the depression in the
centre of the room with water and the water flowed steadily out of the depression, down the
grooves and under the walls. As it did so a grinding noise could be heard and the secret door slide
slowly aside...
