The Great Falls

The river is cut by a huge cliff just north of the old city of Olympia.  The river cascades over the rocks here and plunges deep into always frothing pools.    The cliffs effectively stop any progress upriver beyond the city. It is possible to travel north upriver from here but no ships make that journey. Instead many shallow-hulled boats ply the river from here.   The waterfall pools are home to the Olympian Salmon which is a well-known delicacy all across the Rodinian Continent and beyond.
