Session XXVI: The greater pirate - Report
General Summary
With some degree of hemming and hawing the crew eventually filtered back to "The Eternal Perdition" slowly, each taking the time to prepare for the fight ahead. Ani once again brought up the STC that Rasp had taken from aboard "The Righteous Path". Rasp wasn't in the mood to part with it and Bjorn seemed strangely fine with it. When Ani asked Bjorn about it individually he said that he and the Red priest had come to 'an agreement'.
Ani was flabbergasted at the sudden lack of care that Bjorn seemed to have about a potentially incredibly important item to the crew or even their own personal goals but she as always deferred to the human out of a sense of duty to her position on board the ship... or perhaps more compromising ones that the two had been involved in before. Regardless the issue remained unresolved in Ani's mind as the fighting broke out.
The combat was fierce and swift as far as the lumbering hulks of massive ships in combat went. The Crew managed to score some early hits on the broadside of the enemy vessel, damaging their guns and likely killing a number of their crew. The "Eternal Perdition" on the other hand remained largely untouched as Rasp deftly rejuvenated the shield any time they were hit by the enemy.
The only real trouble happened when Rasp noticed Eve down in the Engineerium, undoubtedly up to no good, spreading her womanly xeno pheromones' on the troglodytic crew members that Ani had picked picked along side his capable servants of the Omnisiah to man their posts. Quick to take action Rasp had two of his Skitarii escort the Eldar scum out of his domain. Convinced the issue was remedied he went back to work.
Only later after the enemy vessel was beginning to flag did he notice that his pockets were short one STC. The Priest saw red and immediately abandoned his post to hunt the woman thing down and show her the light of the Omnisiah, even if he had to rip her apart to do so. Rasp got on the vox and yelled for all hands to know of Eve's treachery and to hunt her down and find her.
As a counter point, Eve could be heard coming across the microbead channels saying she wasn't a traitor as the machine mad monk made his way to where he thought she was. Stig rallied his troops and shipboard MP's to mobilize and help find the woman. Ani was trying to talk Rasp off the ledge while all this happened but her words fell on ears that didn't understand Aeldari, even if speaking low gothic.
All the while, Murk, Isaac and Bjorn were trying to stay focused on the backdrop of the space battle still underway. The enemy Lord Captain Hadarak had realized that the battle was not going his way and had turned his ship away and was beelining for the waiting Mandeville jump point where it could escape to the relative safety of the warp. Clearly the warp engines were warming up and the shift undergoing jump procedures. The only thing darkening their combined hopes was the 8 foot tall green skin gritting his teeth into a devious smile behind the sights of the ships massive lance.
Will the Crew recover the STC? Will the Crew ever trust each other? Will Murk make his shot!? Only time will tell. See you next time.
