Session XXX: A battle of calculators and combustibles - Report

General Summary

The shaken and weary crew ventured down deep into the mountain hollowed out by the robots. The expectation of rough stone tunnels, damp with mildew and stagnant water was confounded with the reality of smooth worked hallways made of the ever present black stone and seemingly psycho-reactive metal. As the team gathered their wits about themselves and steeled themselves for what was sure to be another harrowing adventure into the waiting jaws of death, the mountain tomb of these automatons was doing something of it's own. It was preparing.   As the team made somewhat guesstimated decisions on which way to go or even what they were looking for inside this mountain turned catacombs they descended further and finally wound up in a long tall room with two branching arched hallways at the far end. The room housed strange cylindrical metal tubes that were easy three men shoulder to shoulder across. Rasp was intrigued by keep his interest at a healthy level while the toughs of the group advanced, taking up tactically sound vantage points on the far end from which they entered.   I was a good thing they did because not long after the tomb began it's purgation protocols to expel the intruders. Necron warriors approached from both unexplored hallways and battle was joined by all involved. The Necron weapons were alarmingly effective and a number of the Crew were wounded in the intense fighting and one of the squads of guardsmen they had brought with them was disintegrated by the Necron gauss technology. In the end though something strange happened. The Necrons pulled back and disengaged from combat even as they were on the verge of victory.   The Crew thought little of it beyond their own luck, saving them from the deathly tomb they found themselves in. Isaac received a vision of where they needed to go, through the Necron's constant Psyker interference. The group picked up their belonging and started the long trek through the tomb of the lost dynasty. Rasp led the way carelessly plunking away at the cold stone with his metallic spider feet.   As the group traveled through the day they witnessed many strange things, giant floating insectoid like creatures that moved about the tombs repairing fallen warriors, ghostly robots that seemed to fluctuate in and out of existence. Demented Necrons that wore the skin of the people they had killed recently and swarms of mechanical scarabs that covered many surfaces as the team moved onward but never one did any of them make a move to hinder or harm the group. Once again taking this to be a sign of blessing from the emperor the Crew moved on, even stopping for what they assumed was night to rest and remained unmolested by the Necrons though they had opportunity.   Eventually they reached the large double doors leading in the room where Isaac felt the presence of the power source at the center of these catacombs. Without discussion Bjorn pushed his way in. What waited was a strange polychoron filled with green flashes of light that emitted an obvious power. Situated in front of the object which screamed with the soul of something trying to free itself was a very large stasis chamber from which stepped out a Necron draped in metallic finery. It strolled non-chalant over to his waiting throne, flanked by very capable looking robotic guards. The lord of the tomb the crew trod in welcomed them in his hollow voice still somehow arrogant with the knowledge of millennia but without the vocal chords to produce emotive language.   He told them that we planned to let them leave with their life if they were willing to return the Tear of Isha for him. Bjorn heavily considered shooting the lord, sick of the conversation and the attitude but he though better of it after he had an almost clairvoyant image that came to mind as he saw himself and his friends dead at the feet of this lord. I the end a deal was struck and the team was led to the surface with a strong lead on how to get off of the planet but still trapped in the wilderness and needing to find a way back to the city so they could screw over one more innocent bystander to ensure that Bjorn and his crew would once again come out on top.
