Karin
Karin is a peasant who has been the best friend of Itsuki for as long as they have had the ability to talk and make friends. She's travelled everywhere with her. Karin has a gift for weaponsmithing, and Itsuki has a gift for speaking to the Kami and needs absolutely no weapons--completely annoying, she'd say.
It did manage to get them the occasional coin in their pocket, though, and it fed them pretty well. An artist of some amount of renown, Karin did eventually catch the eye of a Yasuki merchant who offered her the title of Crab Clan Samurai. She accepted it, and was separated from Itsuki for a while while she was trained in the trade.
She was approached by Otomo Misaki with a bribe to stay as a hired artisan at Otosan Uchi--a deal that was mostly to lure Itsuki over to Misaki's son, Hantei Tomohiro, since he'd fallen for her. Karin agreed, not for any other reason than Karin loved Itsuki more than anyone else in the world, and for some strange reason--even though they fought, endlessly--she could tell that Itsuki liked Tomohiro.
Now, Karin understood that Itsuki didn't have a romantic bone in her body, but she did have a bit of a sexual one, and Tomohiro scratched that itch. If Tomohiro wanted to marry her and make her life even better, who was Karin to not help with that?
She lived out the rest of her life alongside Itsuki as an artisan in Otosan Uchi.
