Common Myths and Legends
Primordial dragons are viewed differently than the rest of normal dragons. To metallic dragons, the primordial dragon Bahamut was more of a king than a God. Although typically revered by metallic dragons, other individual dragons might have also pledged allegiance to Bahamut, respecting him by paying tribute or by striving to emulate him.
Similarly, chromatic dragons might have feared, respected, envied, or appeased the primordial dragon Tiamat as a sovereign. However, none of those attitudes and behaviors bear any resemblance in a dragon’s mind to the worship that mortals offer to their Gods.
Since the Colossal Wars and the destruction (disappearance?) Of the two surviving dragon gods Bahumut and Tiamat and their recorded death (disputed by dragons) the dragon population never recovered, most ancient dragons keep to themselves, playing long games with their plans but not drawing too much attention to themselves as to not attract hordes of Adventurers going after their hoards and magics.
