Rock gnomes are a curious and inventive ethnicity of gnomes, and are very much unlike most of their gnomish cousins. While the other gnomish ethnicities are shy, cautious, and reserved the rock gnomes are outgoing, inquisitive, and keen to try new things with little regard for their safety. As a result of their outgoing nature, and the fact that they make their homes within cities of many other races, when most think of gnomes it is the rock gnomes that they think of.
Physical Description
Rock gnomes are, typically, between 3 to 3.5” (91.4cm‒106.7cm) tall and weigh anywhere from 40 to 45 lb (18‒20 kg). The rock gnomes typically possess a natural brownish tint to their skin, though pale and grey tones are not uncommon for rock gnomes who have spent generations in the subterranean world. Young rock gnomes possess a large number of hair colors, some beyond natural human hues, that tend to fade, grey or whiten upon reaching adulthood. Male gnomes typically kept beards groomed in a neat manner.
Homelands
The rock gnomes have spread the widest throughout Runetalras of all of the gnomish ethnicities. The only majority gnomish kingdom named in all the known world is
Old Garstil, compromise almost totally of the various gnomish ethnicities. The rock gnomes have almost totally integrated themselves into the kingdoms of the dwarves, with high populations of rock gnomes being found with the
Kingdom of Aran'Nack,
Craglands,
Kingdom of Makthoria, Zwerthaig within the
Kasari Dominion, and the Province of Karthaig within the
Velgan Empire.
