Development of Ionia

Technology and Arcane

Military

Ionia's weaponry hadn't evolved beyond the use of swords or weaponizing farming implements, such as kunai, scythes or kamas. Armor hadn't evolved past lightweight materials to cover essential parts of the body and with no standardized armies with Ionia, most weaponry is unique and self made per the individual. No Ionian would be seen using metal or bulky protective shields even in post-war Ionia.   While Ionia does have private factions working on firearm technologies in response to the Noxian Invasion, it tactically is behind its aggressive neighbors in military thinking. However, Ionia hosts some of the strongest magic in the world with many peoples of all walks of life able to tap into that magic.

Architecture

Ionian buildings are constructed by woodweavers who, instead of kill trees for lumber, simply shape trees into livable buildings. Ionian homes and markets are weaved from the wood of trees that stay very much alive. Part of this is the necessity in not angering the Spirit of Ionia who will strike back at those that harm the land which includes killing trees.
