Geography of Ionia

Summary

Ionia is a fantastical land with almost impossible rock formations, plateaus, hills, waterways, deserts and forests. Environments range from the snowcapped mountains in the north to the modest deserts of the southern islands. Ionia is lush with life and growth that seems very much alive. The very land itself shifts with a mind of its own, often reacting to changes brought onto it. Native Vastayans and later cultural Ionians call this the Spirit of Ionia where the land is a being in it of itself.   The archipelago is broken up into nine sizeable and named islands with countless tiny unnamed islands surrounding the region: Ionia Island, Fae'lor, Bahrl, Oulin, Ralin, Qaelin, Zhyun, Galrin and Sudaro:

Topography

Introduction

Ionia's vast and inherently magical landscape created diverse, surreal biomes across the archipelago. Snow capped winters cover the northern part of Navori and Shon Xan while barren deserts splay across the southern island of Galrin. Everything in between lay a temperate forests and plains filled with rivers that flow from the large mountains that tower over most of the islands. Much of Ionia's development is tied within the nature itself and to the naked eye can seem underdeveloped when many villages and settlements are mixed in with the flora.
