The mother of Kaklia and the Grandmother of Sejuani, Hejian was left with the duties of raising Sejuani and leading the Winter’s Claw after Kalakia had abandoned both duties. Sejuani would always consider Hejian her true mother. Despite Hejian's best efforts, she simply was too old and too overwhelmed to effectively help the Winter’s Claw through their times of trouble.
