Reign of the Iron Revenant

Founding

The tyrant known as Mordekaiser the Iron Revenant was brought into the material realm and took over much of eastern Valoran. His tyranny brought him many enemies both from outside and within his empire who banded together to defeat him.

In the wake of the Great Darkin War, a coven of mages was formed, united by the whispers of a long dead and powerful soul that promised to give his strength to any who brought him back. He spurred them to make him stronger than any mortal, binding his spirit-form in dark metal plates wrought in the likeness of his old armor.
  These power-hungry sorcerers had hoped to use him as a weapon in their wars. Instead, the reborn spirit slew them where they stood and seized control of the surrounding lands using their armies. To his foes, it seemed he cared only for massacre and destruction. Entire generations perished under his relentless campaigns.
  He raised the Immortal Bastion at the center of his new empire, where he hid most his treasures. After some time, his own inner circle of mages turned on him and neutralized his power. They used this opportunity to banish his soul back to the Spirit World away from his Iron Armor.
