Duke's Orphanage

Structure

They are a lot like a family, the Duke is like the children's father and they are like his children. While the Duke's wife was alive she was like a mother to the children but since her death the housekeeper has taken over the role of matron of the Orphanage.

Culture

The Duke believes that every child deserves a safe place to live and that they should all be treated like family.
The children treat each other like siblings, they sometimes argue but they always come back together and forgive each other in the end.

Public Agenda

They want to help the poorer residents of the country by providing a home for the children orphaned by the wars.

Assets

They are based on the Duke's country estate. The house, the land and all his wealth go towards the upkeep of the orphans who live there.

History

The Duke is a former member of The Revolution and one of the few survivors of their failed rising. After their disbandment, he decided the best way to help the people was to take in the poor orphans who would have previously been bounced between unwilling villagers or been left to starve or turn to crime to survive.
When he inherited his estate, he and his wife immediately set about turning it into a home for the children orphaned and displaced by the ever raging wars in the north and south of the country. They soon become known for their unusual approach of treating the orphans as their own children.
This place is an important part of the history of Rusfaeris and was the inspiration for other subsequent homes for the poor.
