The end of the world

Summary

The story goes that one day the Prophet was asked by one of their followers what the end of the world would look like.
In reply the Prophet told them that the world would end with a slow decline, marked by six key events.
  1. The first event was the birth of the Child of the Saints, a Faeris so powerful that they could defy time itself and move beyond the fabric of out world.
  2. The next would be the rise of a dark power, unlike anything the world had ever seen.
  3. This would cause many years of tumoil in the world.
  4. Then the Child would move to take the throne as their own so that the two sides of the country were united in bloodshed,
  5. The sky would darken across the world,
  6. And the final great battle would be held between man and saints.

They then went on to say that the only way to prevent this was the arrival of the Chosen Light, the one who could defeat the Child of the Saints using the bane of their blood.
Only then could the country reunite in peace and the world could remain.

Historical Basis

The story goes that an old prophet told their followers these words, although evidence suggests that there was a similar prophet and that some of their predictions did come true, all details about them have been lost to time.

Spread

The myth was once well known across Rusfaeris and was told for generations however in the last few centuries the Tsar and the Head of the Shadow Army worked to surpress the myth until it became no more than rumour and was then forgotten entirely.

Variations & Mutation

All varitions of this myth have been forgotten, the only version known now is the one that Valentina recorded in her diary when she first heard it when she was a small child.

In Literature

Unknown to many, the myth does play an important role in many early stories in Rusfaeris, as it became such a part of the cultural identity that these small references were impossible to surpress.
