The Doktors of the University are highly regarded, and are generally considered to be very intelligent and moral, particularly among the educated classes. The poorer classes who struggle to afford Doktor fees, and the religious who view the worldly qualifications of healing to be ungodly, sometimes treat Doktors with suspicion and blame those who cannot heal or save their patient.
Wise women, and others who use traditional healing methods are both respected and feared, the latter particularly by the Church of the White God whose Inkvitsition targets them as Witches.
Faith healers are viewed with suspicion by the followers of the Old Beliefs, and with derision by the educated classes outside the Cherti Mountains, but they are gaining more traction as the two churches of the Orthobog religion expand into the rest of Ruslavia.
