The First Children
The sacrifice by the Triquetra allowed growth to happen for millions of years as the Continental Trees grew upward. Eventually life began to grow from the Continental Tree Top. First flora flourished from the tree tops. Following were four intelligent immortal beings to inhabit the lands and skies of Rüt: the Celestials; the Demons, the Devils, and the Dragons.
The first three were at constant war. The gods feared the destruction of Rüt so they decided to create three new planes to which they banished the celestials, devils, and demons. The devils were sent to the Nine Hells Of Baator; the demons to the Infinite Layers of the Abyss; and the Celestials to the Seven Heavens of Mount Celestia. The fourth species, dragons kept mostly themselves enjoying the gift of life. The gods left them alone to roam Rüt while they retired to The Great Arboretum to recover from the creation of the new planes. The dragons left on their own formed societies and religions and believed into existence their own gods and dominated the world for thousands of years.
During this Age of Dragons the gods living in The Great Arboretum took notice of the new draconic gods. The gods discovered that the weakening of their powers was because they were missing someone to believe in them. During the Whimsy of the Gods they were the only intelligent beings and had no competition for believe. With the birth of the immortal inhabitants of Rüt the world had competition for believe for the first time.
The gods decided they needed to create beings to worship and believe in them. But they disagreed on how to go about the creation process. The gods decided to join together to use their remaining powers of creation to create new immortal beings to worship them.
They breathed life into the world species of immortal humanoids (these creations would not receive the curse of mortality until the Great Calamity and the imprisonment of death) that could believe and worship them forever.
They first created the elves, the dwarves, and the humans the oldest of the species of humankind. Following these first humanoids the gods reached into the planes of elements, the feywild and the shadow fell to create the genasi, the djinn, and other magical beings. Following the elves, dwarves, humans and other magical and planar beings were orcs, gnomes, trolls, tabaxi, lizardfolk, triton, turtles, Dragonborn, goblinoids, firbolg, yuan-ti, and all the races we find on Rüt today.
