The Age of Dragons

Era beginning/end

The beginning of the reign of dragons on Rüt. The Dragons take control when the gods retire to The Great Arboretum to recover from the creation of the planes of the infinite abyss, the nine hells, and the seven heavens of mount celestia.

During their time period of dominance, known as The Age of Dragons, the gods were mostly harmless, reduced to nothing as they hid themselves away fearing and not understanding what had happened and unable to control the development of the world as they had planned. With the creation of beings other than the gods and the loss of their powers, they feared this new change in the way the world worked. (Nothing really changed there was just more competition for believe now) They did not know this at the time but they needed belief in them for them to be as powerful as they once were, without that believe they lost the ability to create as they once could. (Before the other beings belief was easy as they believed in each other and provide sustenance even without knowing it).   With the gods disappearing and losing their powers, the dragons specifically the chromatic dragons saw an opportunity to take the world of Rüt for themselves. They created their own gods to worship and in doing so willed them into existence. The gods seeing this happening before their eyes finally understood that they needed someone to believe in them to regain their powers. They began to return from their hiding places and to try to court the other beings of the World of Rüt and surrounding planes.The dragons saw this and feared they may lose control if these mortals began to worship the gods and allow the gods to regain their powers.   So they pleaded with the Allfather, Asgorath to help them find a way to dominate and control the world of Rüt. Asgorath, not wanting to become a lost god himself decided to help the chromatic dragons find a means to control Rüt.
