Aventi

The Aventi are a druidic water race found in The Endless Sea and other major bodies of water. They are known to be a benevolent race, rescuing victims of shipwrecks, and either bringing them to their underwater cities, or bringing them back to shore if it's close enough. While aventi can breathe air, they rarely live on land, as the lack of moisture irritates their skin.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Aventi are built similar to humans, though their skin can vary from blue to green to purple. Their hands and feet are webbed unlike that of a human to allow much faster travel through water.

Genetics and Reproduction

Aventi have an extremely short gestation period when compared to most sentient races, with their pregnancies only lasting two months on average. Unlike many underwater species, they give birth to live children as opposed to eggs.

Aventi grow at roughly the same rate as humans.

Ecology and Habitats

While they can live on land, they rarely choose to do so, due to the low moisture irritating their skin. Because of this, many aventi live near an underwater heat vent, keeping their skin wet and their bodies warm. Aventi cities often have air in them, allowing other races to enter and survive easily, but are kept very humid to avoid skin irritation.

Dietary Needs and Habits

An aventi's diet consists primarily of fish and seaweed due to the high presence of these foods in their natural habitat. When an aventi has integrated themself into a land population, their diet will also consist of various meats and non-citric fruits.
