Aegeon - Demi-God of the Seas

Aegeon was once a mortal (Goliath) champion from the land of Ikyrlund, having already navigated and mapped much of the eastern continent, he set upon himself to cross the seas to Downsleth and beyond. During that time, many legends were born of his fighting monstrous creatures of the depths, storm giants and evaded the wrath of a great old one in his pursuit of new lands.
For his daring and discovery he was elevated to godhood by Pashastia - Shard-wrought of Death & Discovery and he is now the patron of those who dare to venture to unknown places or face storms and the deadly depths of the sea. His ascension to godhood was witnessed with hatred by the great old one Gthu'nul who cursed Aaegon to be bound to the sea, never able to set foot on land again, this caused much sorrow for Aageon who longed to return to his home in Ikyrlund.
Aegaeon is still said to sail the seas both above and below on the tides on his ship - the Siobolg, though his ship and its eternal crew are only seen under eldritch conditions.
