Ashiah's Respite

The capital of Remiscua, and the traditional home of the High Queen.

Ashiah's Respite is a small, beautiful city, their buildings made of Remiscuan marble and their cobblestones flecked with sparkling mica. It is a city most oriented for businesses and trade, and its low population keeps the streets near silent past closing times. A thriving nightlife, geared towards the entertainment and pleasure of the wealthy, emerges in the lower districts once the sun has set.

Demographics

Almost completely wealthy merchants and nobility. Most menial workers live in New Leidonn, not Ashiah's.

Government

Residents and businesses of Ashiah's Respite are taxed heavily, paying for the amenities of the city.

Defences

Ashiah's Respite is a walled city, with a constant guard watch.

Industry & Trade

Ashiah's Respite is more business than resident. While applying for a home is a strenuous process, owning a business in the city is simpler, and the revenue and tax from such establishments funds the city.

Infrastructure

Sewers, garbage and sanitation, roads, bridges and moats, magical streetlights, public gathering spaces insulated and safe from busy roads, aqueducts

Architecture

The buildings of Ashiah's Respite are all at least faced with white Remiscuan marble, but most are made from it. The cobblestones are flecked with mica, making the streets appear to sparkle in the sunlight. By government mandate, no outside decorations are to adorn homes, and any signs for businesses must not be permanent.

Geography

Built onto and up the side of Mount Aephasos, in the north of Remiscua, on the Teventhan coast.
