New Leidonn
Demographics
Merchants, tradesmen, and people working in Ashiah's Respite. Wealthier districts are closer to the walls of Ashiah's.
Defences
Palisades around the inland borders, and an active police force
Infrastructure
Roads, sewers, public gathering spaces insulated and safe from busy roads
History
When Ashiah's Respite began turning away people who couldn't afford to live there, they often didn't have the funds to return to whence they came. Small camps and settlements of these spurned travelers began to dot the foothills of Mount Aephasos, and over time, conglomerated into one large group. After a time to put themselves in order, the people in charge of this group campaigned the crown to declare themselves an independent city, and won. The city was deemed New Leidonn, in remembrance of what the city of Ashiah's Respite used to represent.
Architecture
Varied, and messy from afar. Eras of construction are obvious. Wealthy districts have undergone repairs and revamps, and mimic the architecture of Ashiah's Respite without the stone. The wealthiest of merchants may face their homes in marble.
Geography
New Leidonn takes up most of a valley, with a mouth to the ocean to the west and Mount Aephasos and Ashiah's Respite to the north.
