Personal history
La Sal was born on ship in the seas during a raging storm. In the midst of that storm the boat he was aboard was sieged by a gang of Pirates that took himm as they took everything and left no other survivors. He was given the name Scratchy do to being a pain in the ass as a baby. Once grown and able to walk, the pirate captain took a liking to Scratchy and eventually brought him back home to the Domain of Durschlong. Once back in the Domain Scratchy was raised to fight, win, and gamble like a pirate. Once he turned 13 he was finally invited back onto the crew. From there Scratchy started becoming very well known as a HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS to other countries. A large price and reward for any Adventurer that could capture or kill him, was placed upon him only after 2 years. Scratchy then became infamous from the ages of 18 to 42. He made love to many women, killed plenty more men, women, and the occasional child on top of all the drugs he also did. As well he took anything and everything he desired as normal pirates do. Eventually by 45 he thought it best he report back to the Domain, but was seized immediately as an outlaw. ONLY Esmee Gamgee, who at the time, was a very famous/recongnized name. As she was the clear front runner to win the Domain in the next year's tournament, she decided that he was to enter her watch. That she would keep him in control and he forever in her debt. The Domain of Arlong at the time did not grant her that right, but stated they would hold off his execution until March after New Year Day.
As one can imagine Esmee Gamgee won and the Domain has remained her's since. Upon her victory she went down to visit Scratchy asking for his alligance and requesting he make the Domain's Navy the best the world has ever seen. Scratchy agreed to her terms and went on to carry out her will. Upon his freedom he drastically changed his attitude and understood he was given a second chance to make things better for his crew, countryman, and eventually those he cared about most. Upon the years of 1976, 1978, and 1980, Scratchy had finally become a father. His eldest child was with a random one night encounter and his love affair gave him Bucky la Sal. After that he married his wife in 78, then she bore his 2nd child by the name of Sliver, who he left with his wife in their homeland to be raised in another way other than piracy per his wife's request. Lastly he had a long time affair with his firstmate and she eventually gave birth to his final child to Mary Cate's Prodigy Character. She would be with him until her 18th birthday when he finally dropped her off the shores of the Republic and she joined the The Adventure Academy. Oddly enough both his other children also went on to join the Academy in the same year as well.
