Queen's Day / King's Day
Queen's Day or King's Day is exactly as it sounds--a day to celebrate the current King or Queen of Kwazi and his or her family. Though there is only one official day set aside for festivities, the celebrations usually last all week. Typically, the holiday occurs in the summer months, but there have been years where it was conducted in the same season as the king or queen's birth.
Celebrations include popcorn throwing, fireworks, kite flying, horse races, seasonal magic talent showcases or productions, and more. The school children are most fond of collecting stacks of popcorn bags and opening up individual pieces to see if they receive something instructing them to begin a special scavenger hunt. No one knows the treasure at the end, but it is a rare thing to find the instructions in the first place, making the search for them a valuable endeavor to the children.
Regardless of whether children find the instructions, each popcorn bag includes a variety of unique flavours, and each piece holds a surprise in the form of bursts of magic, jokes, or other enjoyable material for people.
This important day began in the year 1407 because King Otiir was inspired by his son, Obed, to create a new, national holiday. King Otiir's presentation of this holiday was for the Kwazi people to celebrate him, which created an unseen divisiveness between the Kwazi inhabitants at first, but today it is seen as a day to have fun and respect the present and past rulers of Kwazi.
BEGINNINGS
This important day began in the year 1407 because King Otiir was inspired by his son, Obed, to create a new, national holiday. THE FIRST DAY
On the first day of the celebrations, one of the Summers of the current royal family will throw fireworks in the sky around sunrise to let the people know that they have kicked off the holiday.FOOD & GAMES
What would a holiday be without food? This day the food is provided by the royal family as a sort of "thank you" to Kwazi citizens for continuing to respect their leader through celebrations.Games that are enjoyed combine the historical with the modern and come from around the world. Games such as croquet give off an air of nostalgia for times past, while games such as "dunk the Royal Kwazi Diplomat (RKD)" or Advisor (RKA)" provide a chance for children to approvingly dunk a higher official in water and for adults to relive their childhood side.
