Half-giantism
Half-giants were the offspring of the giants and the humans. They were often known as great Heroes of the myths, but also feared for their unpredictable powers.
They were also not as intelligent as humans, and thus were easily persuaded by cunning men, that used them for their own purposes.
When Çargin's betrayal was discovered, he was killed by the others, but this caused centuries of feud between the rest of the Holders, and Çargin's escaped son Dašar, who became the king of the Tašals.
Characteristics
Half-giants were the tallest of men, although not as big as Giants, often reaching the height of one and a half of normal men. They were also great in strenght, able to tear a tree of it's roots, carry a deer like a kitten, or win any man in a wrestle already in their youth. But even full grown they were like children, in that they could not control their strenght. Thus even when striving for good, they often ended up causing destruction. They were also not as intelligent as humans, and thus were easily persuaded by cunning men, that used them for their own purposes.
Transmission
Even though half-giants are known as the offspring of the giants, it seems that the spread of the condition is not as clear cut as mortal reproduction. For example, even though the twins Daursan and Kauteirin were known to be fathered by Knuckle the Giant, only Daursan grew up to be a half-giant, while Kauteirin inherited the beauty and intelligence of his mother Ásinnár.Oath to kill the Giants
After the Holders of the Skyswords had escaped the Stone Giants in the Great Slave Rebellion of Stonelords' Throne, they swore an oath to kill any giant, or anyone that had giant blood in them, to eradicate the evil race of their former enslavers once and for all. This oath was soon broken, however, when the wife of one of them called Çargin gave birth to a son, and he realised that the baby was not of his blood, but fathered by a giant before their escape. He pitied the baby, and instead of fullfilling the oath, send the wife a way with him. When Çargin's betrayal was discovered, he was killed by the others, but this caused centuries of feud between the rest of the Holders, and Çargin's escaped son Dašar, who became the king of the Tašals.
