The Kirden Ability Mentor Program
Made by NightCafe
After recieving their abilities at the age of 19, any citizen of The Kirden Empire can elect to join the Kirden Ability Mentor Program. Through this program, citizens can learn to wield their powers precisely and with greater skill, to become certified for use of these abilities throughout their everyday lives and even in ability-specific jobs.
Mentors build their own schedules around their pupils' progress and daily lives. Mentors may teach through any methods they feel work best, and are trusted to work to the best of their abilities to promote the growth and skill of their pupils. Mentors often form close relationships with their pupils, similar to that of a parent or friend, depending on case. They are often treated as family friends to both the pupil's parents and the pupil's own family.

Mentorship
At any time after recieving one's abilities, one can go to the Department of Education wing of the Impirical Palace to apply for mentorship. A pupil's personality is carefully analyzed through interviews with various relations and acquaintances, along with an interview with the applicant themself, and matched with the personality of a mentor. A mentor's personality may be chosen for similarity of interests, or to help fix certain behaviors, such as indicipline or disrespectfulness. Mentors typically only have a single pupil, although there are times when mentors decide to apply for another after the conclusion of sessions with their previous pupil.Mentors build their own schedules around their pupils' progress and daily lives. Certification
When a Mentor feels their pupil has mastered enough control oer their powers and themselves, they can certify them for certain degrees of mastery. There are three levels of certification one can achieve: Practical, Professional, and Complete.Practical Use
Practical Use mastery is the simplest level, requiring enough control to use one's abilities in daily life without harming oneself or others. Most citizens of the Kirden Empire have a minimum of this level of mastery achieved. Through mastery to this level, one can weild abilities around their house or in public spaces, either to assist with tasks or to show off their skills.Professional Use
Professional Use mastery necessitates expertise in certain techniques with one's power, such as to allow one to apply for certain ability-related jobs. A Professional Use certification lists what specific jobs the certified individual may now apply for, and must be shown when applying for any jobs listed. Some examples of such jobs are as follows:- Water Pumper: Special control of water from an Elem allows them to push water through the pipe systems of the Kirden Empire
- Wall Guard: Sights with a fine touch on predicting can protect the main empire's walls by ensuring that no threat comes unknown
- Herd Intimidater: Morphs who have mastered certain animals can help watch after herds by scaring any animals that try to run away so ythat they rejoin their flocks
Complete Use
Complete Use mastery entails complete control over one's ability. It is the most difficult to acheive and is often only sought after by those desiring related professions. Complete Use certification is required for any governmental job, or for any task that may be outsourced to someone by the imperial government.Revocation
If an individual who has been certified is found to have abused or mishandled their abilities, their case is analyzed by one the high courts and their certification can be revoked. The process of being recertified requires a new mentor and the scrutiny of a high court. The Chuftin Dynasty
In the year 1087, Emperor Chuftin started his rule over the Kirden Empire. Within a year, he initiated a new mathod for teaching his citizens to use their powers: he himself, along with his council, taught each pupil individually. Though this slowed the certification process, he found it necessary to ensure that every pupil understood their ability and themselves to their furthest extent. He would meet with every pupil individually, talking them through general understnding of how they act, and had the council head with related abilities walk them through any ability-specific steps he could not. Following in the tradition of Kirden dynasties, any emperor who follows in the same practices as Emperor Chuftin gets added into his dynsatic line.
