Dearest Jonah,
I am pleased to hear you are alive and well, and that your business escapades have found you success. I recall you were concerned over the safety of our caravans following your departure. You will be pleased to know our most recent journey was made without incident.
Well. Onto more pressing matters.
Your recent encounters are intriguing, to say the least. Due to their nature, I took the liberty of discussing them with Mother Saanvi. Of course, she met them with skepticism, with her first question being, "But why did he not ask whom the other voice was!"
I do not believe you are the type to fabricate such stories. Besides, it is much more fun to believe!
You mentioned the voice called you to the Infernal Giri-durga. I believe this refers to the mythological fortress of Bane. As you know, followers of the Prime Deities constructed great fortresses, which became resting places for the Wishmakers following the Great Calamity. Now revered as temples for worship, these are scattered throughout Issylra: one in Mizure for Bahamut, one in Shi Xi for Erathis, one in Haiten for the Raven Queen, etc.
Similar strongholds were constructed in the name of the Betrayer Gods. Some say these strongholds were where each of the Betrayer Gods were defeated, and subsequently banished. Their exact locations are lost to time. Thank the gods, no need for fanatics to pay their "respects". The Infernal Giri-Durga is rumored to be somewhere in the badlands, west of the Jangalee. A treacherous region, that is. Supposedly the Oda have cleaned up those routes. But whose to say for sure?
Cursed items are no myth, of course. Naturally, I must caution you not to handle one so carelessly again. Avandra's intervention may well have been to prevent something worse than a permanent accessory. But it seems to me this entity you interacted with can only be heard though said item. To uncover the truth, you may well have to wear it once more. Your mind must be more disciplined if and when that day comes.
I am but a mortal, and cannot tell you what the right thing to do is. All I know is that this item must never, ever be allowed to fall into the wrong hands. There are many that seek to abuse the power of the Wishmakers: Prime and Betrayer. I would keep this gauntlet close to you, until you decide what you will do.
Curiosity kills me, did any of your friends have a similar response as you when around the item?
Cheers,
Isla
