Riffwing Bat
These musically infused bats are thought to be the result of long term exposure of deep cave bats to Shrewhale songs. Over generations and thousands of years, the poetry of their calls effected the very way these creatures evolved. The melody and lyricality of the shrewhale song creating these rare and endangered bats.
Most bats chirp to use their echolocation, bouncing the sharp pinging sound of their call off the walls to create a map in their mind of where things are. But these sound more like the strumming of a stringed instrument like a sitar. Their own songs rather lovely and comforting at night as they swarm around and consume the insects that threaten an itch less sleep.
Conservation Status
