Lady/Lord of the Lagoon

As a part of maintaining order in the Blue moon Atoll and guarding it from raiders the Clergy of the Tide Queen was formed. Necessarily a formal holding would require a leader so the first Lady of the Lagoon was appointed.

Responsibilities

The rank's duties involve overseeing the other guards and holding council over matters of law and requests to enter the restricted area of the lagoon. Generally the Lady of the Lagoon's time is occupied by sorting gifts and missives sent by various factions to try and curry favor with the clergy. On the rare free time that the Lady has she often make a round to check in on things and stretch her tail out properly. Overall this has historically been an uneventful position with little political danger involved. The exact reason for why the position has been so safe is not known. However the overall relaxed appointment and the general lack of cultural ambition in the Clergy of the Tide Queen likely has a hand in it.
Some of the most important and interesting jobs that the Lady of the Lagoon is the oversight of all the foraging and hunting groups. In order to ensure that there is enough food to go around the ecosystem must be monitored carefully and resources must be managed to keep Blue moon Atoll the haven that it is now.

Requirements of Appointment

In order to be selected as Lord or Lady of the Lagoon you must be at least 30 years old and in good reputation. Additionally you must speak at least two dialects an know the intricacies of polite conversation with spirits. Finally a council of elders and must overview all of this as well as you knowledge of feeding large groups and your spell prowess to ensure you can preform the duties of the station. After a review of the previous Lord or Lady's tenure it will be decided if their thoughts of a successor should be taken into account.
While no rule on gender exists in the clergy their has not yet been a Lord of the Lagoon so many writings simply refer to Lady to cut corners.
