Maximillius Steele

In charge of the garrison at Summerfell Keep, Captain Steele was forced to chase after the prisoners that escaped due to the attack of Sevryn the Red Death. However, he was instead captured himself by the bandits known as the Brotherhood of Free Men. Imprisoned alongside Griegor, one of his own former prisoners, Steele was eventually found by the Party when they came to Fort Greymoor to deal with the bandits on behalf of Greymoor. Given the choice, the Party freed Griegor and left Steele to rot. 
He escaped on his own, however, and gathered some of his former soldiers together to lay siege to Greymoor in order to recapture the escaped prisoners, as well as Pietr Quickcoin and Arthan, who he considered accomplices to the party's cause. Even his own soldiers started to fear that he had become unhinged after the ordeal and was acting independent of his official orders. His obsession with recapturing the Party was unnerving enough that Chauncey changed sides mid-way through the battle. 
Steele briefly took Greymoor after luring the Party out of the town's walls and attacking from behind. He threatened to execute the populace unless the Party surrendered, but they were able to counterattack and defeat him and his men. After being captured once more, Steele was bound to a ballista and fired unspectacularly into a nearby river, where he promptly drowned.
