Summer A: A contingent within the community demand to be heard. Who are they? What are they asking for?

The farming community is at a crossroads with the cultivation of crops for this coming year. The harvest in the fall is going to be heavy handed on the sorghum, leaving very little in fresh produce and food that offers longevity and preservation. There are farmers and learned individuals within the community that are concerned that this agricultural monoculture is leaving the community at the whims of the unpredictability of the weather and may cause suffering and famine come the winter. They are asking that all members of the community try their hand at self sustainability and cultivate gardens of fresh produce that is easily preserved. Tomatoes, grapes, potatoes, and other vegetables that will be important to prevent hunger and disease throughout the harsh and cold winter months.   Project: Homestead gardens with fast fruiting vegetables
