House Tyto

House Tyto is one of the noble houses of the Winged Woods. They are of the Court of Night and are currently the Head House of the Court. Their words are "Quiet Wings, Sharp Minds" and their crest is a cresent moon adjacent to a barn owl face.

Traits

House Tyto is a mysterious and secretive house, preferring to keep their affairs and politics to themselves. They are quiet, stealthy, and very skilled birdfolk, with House Tyto providing many spymasters for the other Houses of the Winged Woods. Members of House Tyto have also been rumored to dabble in dark and strange magics.

Members of House Tyto resemble barn owls and are of average height. They commonly dress in blacks and grays with accents of white. Their knights tend to favor lighter armors such as gambesons or studded leather.

History

The One Night War

House Tyto was a minor house, even after the crowning of the First Winged King. It wasn't until recent years, the Year 121 v5 specifically, that House Tyto climbed the ladder of power to become the head of the Court of Night. When another Court of Night house, House Sandclaw, begun plotting a rebellion against the crown, it was House Tyto that was chosen by the Court of Night to handle the rebellious burrowing owls. The Lord Tyto set out that night with a retinue of one hundred men. Before the sun rose on the Winged Woods, every member of House Sandclaw had dissapeared, and those remained bent the knee to House Tyto. The Lord Tyto was given the position of royal spymaster as a reward for The One Night War. The Lord Tyto would retire from the position several years later, when the Lord of House Gray died of a fever and The Lord Tyto would inherit The Silent Islands.

The Lord Tyto

The Lord Tyto is an elusive and frightening figure. The One Night War was a victory, yet one that left The Lord Tyto heavily scarred and maimed. He would augment his body where he was wounded with steel and silver, adding to his already terrifying precense. There are few who know of The Lord Tyto's real name, one of which being King Babble Mourningclaw who was supposedly a friend of Tyto's

Recent Events

The Burning of Songhome

House Tyto would not participate nor send troops to Songhome when the demons broke through the defences. It's speculated by some more mistrusting sources that House Tyto was aware of the incoming horde and did nothing to warn the people of the Meadowlands, yet no proof exist to verify this accusation.
