The Lord-Emeritus of Sanctuary and high advisor to the current lord is a kind gnome who is happiness manifest. It is rare that a non-guild Master receives the title of Lord, as Nicholas was a school teacher. Generations of Sancturans knew this man as a guiding light in dark times, not unlike Sanctura herself and insisted on his guidance to lead the city.
