The New Elven Kingdom
A lifetime ago, a mistake was made. In the ancient history of the younger races, a great war was fought between the elves and men, a war that destroyed the greatest beauty in the world. Many died in the war, and very few remain that lived through it. A generation of children have been born and died since, and now the elves are ready to forget their past, the past their parents taught them to regret, and their grandparents taught them to fear.
Structure
The Elves operate by a Geniocracy, were the eldest are given extra voting power and only the very eldest in the population are allowed to be elected. A council of three elves over the age of 500 rule, followed by 21 people over 400.
Assets
The Elves control a great jungle with their magic, and have many hideaways and secret nooks inside the deep forest. The elves have superior training in whichever skills they choose to learn. Elven healers, hunters, or scholars are the best in the world.
History
The kingdom was founded when the eldest elves remaining determined to lead their younger counterparts, to prevent them from ever returning to the civilized world, as the elven numbers (slowly) grew, the process of age-voting was regulated and perfected to ensure that power remained with the wisest. The elves were attacked by a dragon (which they called 'Chao Tempestua') in 400, which led to the founding of the 'old fortress'. As the oldest Elves have died or disappeared, and younger power takes over the government, the Elves have slowly returned to the political world.
Territories
The great jungle, commonly known as the 'Elven forest' is on a pseudo-continent of its own, and the elves lay claim to all of it.
Military
Approximately .5% of the Elven population are currently engadged as border gaurds, protecting the population from the dangerous animals of the deep jungle.
Technological Level
The elves in ancient times possessed knowledge beyond current means, but exploration of their ancient haunts have given the modern elves hints at there past glory, little pieces of technology and magic that should not normally be possible.
Foreign Relations
The Elves have been reclusive for ~500 years, and have been continually pushed in the latest years to make further relations with the younger nations. This manifested itself in the Human-Elven treaty of 526, and recently the migration treaty of 604.
